Country Plank Alder Floors

Country Plank Alder Floors are produced in 5 ¼" and 7" wide planks in random lengths to 8 feet long. Your floor comes Pre-finished with a modern European Hardwax-Oil coating that is easy to maintain. The Pre-finished planks are available in a Traditional Smooth or Antique Distressed Finish and can be custom stained to suit your décor. Our Country Plank Alder Floors are a great choice for homes choosing the added character and warmth of a wide plank floor. Precision milled from 1" solid Alder to ¾" thick, we machine a traditional tongue and groove profile on the sides and ends of each plank for a snug fit and easy installation.

Each floor is produced individually for each customer to ensure exceptional quality and customer service from order to delivery. We hand select only mature Alder from privately owned farms and woodlots. We are careful to use the whole tree for its maximum potential, the larger base wood is cut for lumber, the smaller wood is cut and sold for firewood. The branches and limbs are left on site for soil re-generation; even the sawdust is used for plant bedding or fish and meat smoking.

Country Plank Alder Floors

In our Pacific Northwest climate, Red Alder is a fast growing deciduous species and works with nature as a natural nitrogen fixer for soil. Alder generally grows to maturity in 15-25 years. Alder rapidly reproduces within a year and the young Alders provide excellent ground cover for small animals, birds and deer. Once thought of as a weed species and poisoned by forestry companies, this rapidly renewable wood is an excellent choice for manufacturing sustainable wood products.
